Mike Taylor

Prior to co-founding Midwest Growth Partners, Mike was a founding partner at Top Tier Holdings, LLC, a small, closely held private equity fund. Mike was responsible for developing Top Tier's investment portfolio by sourcing and executing on investment opportunities. Mike started his M&A career in 2003 with the acquisition of a retail pharmacy, which grew to a 22-location investment platform until being sold to a strategic acquirer in 2021. Mike is presently a board member for Van Becelaere Machine Works, Parallel Ag, Manitowoc Tool & Machining, MACH, Adams® Flavors, Foods & Ingredients, and French Gourmet.
EDUCATION
Mike received his B.S. from Iowa State University, where he earned the distinctions of Cardinal Key Honor Society inductee and C. H. Sandage Excellence Scholar. Mike also earned his MBA from the University of Iowa. In 2015, Mike was honored as a member of the 16th annual list of "Forty Under 40" presented by The Business Record. In 2019, Mike was awarded “Outstanding Young Professional” by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University.
FUN FACTS
Outside of the office, Mike has served on the Board of Governors as program co-chair for Leadership Iowa and also as a founding board member of Leadership Iowa University. Currently, Mike serves on the statewide board of Make-A-Wish Foundation, Iowa Chapter. In his free time, Mike takes great pride in working on the family farm operation and enjoys hunting and fishing activities with family and friends. Mike, his wife Lindsay, and their three children, Payton, Sawyer, and Maddie, live in rural Adel, Iowa.
